Computer software to manage the disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI). This includes tracking and reporting the authorization and release of PHI. It involves recording all of the pertinent information about an authorization and release of PHI such as the patient, the PHI to be disclosed, the recipient of the PHI, the date and frequency of the disclosure(s), verification of the requestor's identity, etc. The computer software also provides tools for defining and tracking the workflow tasks such as entering data, reviewing requests, and granting approvals. Various other functions will be provided such as printing reports and generating form letters. This software can be used by organizations to help them comply with various federal and state laws involving the use and disclosure of health information such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
